When did you last show love and compassion to others in anger? In his prayer in John 17, Jesus reveals that unity and togetherness in love will show the world who He is and his love! Throughout the bible, you can see that God is slow to anger, even when he has all the right to be. As reflections of his work and goodness, you should follow his example and show up with love! How will you do the hard work to be slow to anger and show more compassion to those around you?

• John 17:21-23 NLT - 21 I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. 22 “I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. 23 I am in them and you are in me. • James 1:12-25 NLT - 12 God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. • Ephesians 4:25-26 NLT - 25 So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body. 26 And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry,

• Matthew 5:21-26 NLT - 21 “You have heard that our ancestors were told, ‘You must not murder. If you commit murder, you are subject to judgment.’ 22 But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell. 23 “So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, 24 leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God. 25 “When you are on the way to court with your adversary, settle your differences quickly. Otherwise, your accuser may hand you over to the judge, who will hand you over to an officer, and you will be thrown into prison. 26 And if that happens, you surely won’t be free again until you have paid the last penny.

• Numbers 14:18 NLT - ‘The Lord is slow to anger and filled with unfailing love, forgiving every kind of sin and rebellion. But he does not excuse the guilty. He lays the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations.’

• Nehemiah 9:17 NLT - They refused to obey and did not remember the miracles you had done for them. Instead, they became stubborn and appointed a leader to take them back to their slavery in Egypt. • Nahum 1:3 NLT - The Lord is slow to get angry, but his power is great, and he never lets the guilty go unpunished. He displays his power in the whirlwind and the storm. The billowing clouds are the dust beneath his feet.

• Proverbs 14:29 NLT - People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness.

• Proverbs 16:32 NLT - Better to be patient than powerful; better to have self-control than to conquer a city.

• Proverbs 29:11 NLT - Fools vent their anger,but the wise quietly hold it back.
