Uncommon Change – Jesus Is Lord

Change can be unsettling, and anything other than "normal" can be challenging to navigate. But God has more and better in mind for you than just normal! God intends for you to experience a life lived with his Spirit in you and his people around you.

An uncommon life is marked by an uncommon kind of change. If you want to get from normal to uncommon, something is going to have to change in you. You can't have better and stay the same at the same time. But, the change that God invites everyone into is the kind of change that leads to more than you could ever imagine! Because of who God is, you can have confidence in the transformation he invites you into!

John 10:10-15 describes God as the Good Shepherd. "The thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life. "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep." God has proven himself as the Good Shepherd when he sacrificed his Son for your life, and when he was raised to life again, just like he said he would. Jesus is who he said and says he is, so you can trust him!

God has made Jesus Lord over everything. The question is - will you? Acts 2:36-37 says, "So let everyone in Israel know for certain that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, to be both Lord and Messiah!" Peter's words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and to the other apostles, "Brothers, what should we do?"

Here are two simple yet powerful prayers you can pray throughout the week to invite God to become Lord in and over your life.

  • Jesus, I will follow your lead.

  • Jesus, I look to you for help.

What uncommon change might start transforming you and the way you experience life around you?
