Three Questions To Reflect On Faithfulness

There's something about birthdays and anniversaries that are worth celebrating and acknowledging. It's incredible what can happen in 30 years - to look back, look around, and look ahead to capture what God has been up to! The thread that carries the whole story of Canyon Ridge is the faithfulness of God and the faithful response of God's people.

It can be challenging to see today what your faithfulness will turn into someday. So often, people want immediate results with instant outcomes. The tendency is to overestimate what can happen in a short period of time and underestimate what can happen over the long haul.

Psalm 100:5 reminds us that God is faithful from generation to generation, even when people forget to be. Life will always bring about change and instability. Choose to steady and root yourself in God's unchanging, unconditional faithfulness.

So, wherever you find yourself today, reflect:

  1. The truth is, you're being faithful to something or someone right now. It might be procrastination, an ideal, an unhealthy habit, an unfaithful friend, or a faithful God. Identify: what/who are you faithful to?

  2. People can only be faithful in response to a faithful God. What story do you have that tells of God's faithfulness?

  3. Where is God inviting you to respond with faithfulness today?

Celebrating three decades of God's faithfulness through the story of Canyon Ridge tells us that faithfulness to God matters. Looking back shows that God's been writing story after story. And looking ahead shows that he wants you to be a part of it! What are you waiting for?
