Going Forward Together

You are part of something so much bigger than yourself—something ancient and holy. Peter lays it out clearly, handing over the "Big 4" tools you’ll need on this journey: Identity, Hope, Holiness, and Each Other. These tools aren’t just for show; they are meant to be used as you walk through life.

Think back to the Temple, where generations of God’s people met with Him. It symbolized His presence on earth, and it’s where people connected with God. When Jesus came, He redefined that connection, declaring Himself as the new Temple: “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up,” He said, pointing to His death and resurrection. Through Christ, you are now part of this holy work. You are a living stone being built into God’s spiritual temple, where God meets with people today.

And here’s the beauty: you are not just someone standing on the sidelines. You are a royal priest, carrying the presence of God into the world. Being a priest isn’t just something you do; it’s who you are.

  • Embrace Your Identity: You are a living stone, crucial in God’s spiritual temple.

  • Live as a Royal Priest: Bring God’s presence wherever you go, not just on Sundays.

  • Offer Spiritual Sacrifices: Let your daily life be a testimony of God’s goodness and grace.

As you go together, it’s vital to remember Peter’s words about your temporary status here on earth. You are “temporary residents” passing through. Live in a way that reflects your true citizenship in heaven. Let your actions among unbelievers show the love and light of Christ, drawing them closer to God through how you live.

Where are you going, and who are you going with? As you step forward, be mindful that this journey is not meant to be traveled alone. Walk together, live honorably, and show the world what it looks like to be God’s people.
