“In essentials, unity. In opinions, liberty. In all things, love.”

We believe there are “essentials” in our faith. Removing any of these core values would make our faith something else.

As we walk together in the direction of Jesus and prayerfully study scripture, we recognize that believers may come to varying Biblical conclusions. In these circumstances, we are committed to listening well to one another and moving forward together with grace. We acknowledge there are different opinions on some issues, and work to remain united in our essential beliefs.

 We do this by holding tightly to the highest command of Jesus: love one another.

It is Canyon Ridge’s decided conviction and practice that women and men are valuable and essential contributors to our weekend worship gatherings in all roles, including teaching and preaching. The Elder team at Canyon Ridge faithfully discovered the scripture and listened to God and to one another to come to this conclusion around the practice of women teachers. Look Back, Look Around, Look Ahead

Listening to God and his people to help form a decision about something in your life is one of the many ways you can practice faithfully walking with Jesus! A conviction is a deep and rooted understanding that puts God’s voice first before anything else. One way you can start a process like this is a simple practice called “Look Back, Look Around, Look Ahead”. This practice was used to help the Elder Team at Canyon Ridge discover a decided conviction around women teaching!
