Jeff Pace's Story | Discovering God

Jeff's discovery of God began with hating the idea of God. With his health and family leaving him, he felt he had nothing good left. What followed his diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis was three months of moving from motel room to motel room. In this time marked by nothing constant and nothing good, Jeff began to pray for the first time.

A few standout encounters seemed to be God responding to Jeff's prayers, looking for more permanent housing and a loving community. "Maybe there is something to this," thought Jeff.

The first time Jeff walked into Canyon Ridge, experiencing a community of people discovering God together, he felt the Spirit. There was something that day that gave a sense of peace.

On June 8, 2019, Jeff was baptized, committed to pursuing God's love for the rest of his life. "That alone was a miracle." From hating a God he didn't know, Jeff is now joining Jesus to bring life wherever he can, serving on the worship team, baptizing people, and playing an active role in someone's new beginning in Jesus.

"Before Jesus, my life was filled with depression, anger, anxiety, and really, hopelessness. And now, I see Hope every day, I see goodness in people, I see the beauty in life, and it's all worth it."
