Uncommon Change | May 08, 2022 | Baptism
Marriage, graduation, and adoption are all ceremonies that mark a significant shift in your life and show you are no longer the same person. Baptism is a ceremony like that! Jesus began his ministry by being baptized and then commanded his disciples to go and baptize others. Baptism is a practice that helps you do what Jesus did, but that's not the finish line! It's the beginning of a new life, following Jesus and pointing others in his direction.
KEY VERSES
Acts 2:36-38 NLT- 36 “So let everyone in Israel know for certain that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, to be both Lord and Messiah!” 37 Peter’s words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?” 38 Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 3:15 NLT - 15 But Jesus said, “It should be done, for we must carry out all that God requires.” So John agreed to baptize him.
Matthew 28:19 NLT - 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:41 NLT - 41 Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all.
Matthew 28:19 NLT - 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
