What Matters Most | Come & See | Erin Johnston

When you really look into your life, what matters the most? The night before Jesus would die on the cross, he talk to the disciples about what really matters to him. He reveals that he wants his people to never be alone, be obedient, and to trust his peace will be enough! John 14 explains that this is all done through the advocate that Jesus sends, who is the Holy Spirit! How are you experiencing the help of the Holy Spirit this week? How are you allowing him to stay obedient to Jesus and how are you inviting his peace into your life?

KEY VERSES

• John 14:6 NLT: Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

• John 14:15-21 NLT: If you love me, obey my commandments.And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you.Soon the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. • John 14:27 NLT: I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

• John 14:26 NLT: But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.
